Zambia's industrial sector is heavily anchored by its copper and cobalt mining operations. Historically, the demand for a professional casting die maker was limited to basic maintenance of mining machinery. However, as the country diversifies into electronics and specialized automotive parts, the requirement for precision alloys has surged.
The local environment, characterized by high humidity in certain regions and extreme temperature fluctuations in the Copperbelt, poses a challenge for material longevity. This has led to an increased interest in die cast zinc alloy components which offer superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional iron castings used in Zambian workshops.
Currently, many Zambian firms rely on imported finished parts. The lack of a localized casting studio capable of rapid prototyping means long lead times. There is a critical gap between raw material availability and the high-tech capability to transform these materials into precision industrial components.
